Qualities of a Good Teacher (#DPE103) (#HowardGardner'sMultipleIntelligence) (#DunnandDunnLearnigStyle)

DPE 103  Principles and Methods of Teaching. Reporting.

What makes a good teacher great?  What makes our favorite teacher stands out from the rest? What makes them so special and loved by students?

It is very important to be familiar with the multi-intelligence learning  and acquisition of knowledge styles of the learners as well as the teachers.

The very common ones are visual, auditory, and kinesthetic. All of us may have all of these teaching or learning style but one will be dominant than others. 

As a future teachers or educators we should acknowledged the diversities among our  students. In saying this, we need and try our best to cater all their needs.  But it is better said than done right? So, our lessons should at least  cover  what is good for everybody. 
As I've done my research about the qualities of a good teacher, I've seen a lot of  teaching methods and styles. To  summarize here are the words that strikes me most.

The  qualities of a good teacher

  1. A good teacher is knowledgeable.
  2. A good teacher has a good personality.
  3. A good teacher has a good classroom management skills.
  4. A good teacher is a good listener and good communicator.
  5. A good teacher has a good sense or humor
Teacher as knowledgeable:
  1. Knows the subject matter very well
  2. In depth understanding of the the subjects
  3. Able to knows student's strengths and weaknesses
Teachers good personality:
  1. passionate ( love of teaching/love of levels their teaching: kids/adults)
  2. Flexible and Open-minded
  3. Funny and Friendly
  4. Approachable and Kind
  5. Energetic and Lively
  6. Enhances more on student-centered development
  7. Honest and shows genuine care for student's progress
Teacher as good communicator and good listener:
  1. Able to relay information properly
  2. Knows how to make the lesson simple and understandable
  3. Pays attention to the speaker
Teacher as a facilitator (management skills)
  1. Has a good rapport with the students
  2. Be able to give appropriate and positive feedback
  3. Authoritative or in control in the class
    Teacher of a great sense of tumor:
    1. Create a friendly environment in the classroom
    2. Be able to make learning fun and memorable

    The Multi Intelligence test is quite impressive. Try it. Find out your dominant intelligences. My four most popular intelligences are Existentialist, Inter and Intra, and Linguistic. No wonder why I enjoyed writing. Good luck!!!
