Diploma in Professional Education CTU-Main Campus
The Trio
Going back to school seemed
scary at first but with perseverance, determination and friendship, it wasn't bad at all.
Why do we take DPE? We have different reasons why we are taking it. Some are for future purposes, some were encourage by their family or personal choice, others are for experience and the rest wanted to pursue one's dream to be a teacher. DPE students are already graduates of a certain course or even a licence individual. In our batch, we have a registered nurse. We have a Psychology, Math, Physics, Statistics, TLE's, Araling Panlipunan, Mass Communications, Business Administration, and English Major's and more. And also we have a classmate who was a licensed teacher but didn't practice her profession, so she need to take a 12 units refresher subjects.
We started last November 11, 2017 and ended last March 25, 2018. Our classes was every Saturday and Sunday. Each day we have 3 subject. One subject is equivalent to 3 units. So if you have 6 subjects you'll have 18 units. It sounds heavy because I tell you it's a long day but it's manageable. However, if you don't like this schedule, Saturday and Sunday, CTU has a lot of options for you. They offer weekdays. I don't remember the time schedule but since it's Monday to Friday it might only be one hour to two hours per day. And if your availability is only Saturday or Sunday you can do it too. We have classmates also who only took every Saturday or only Sunday schedules.
You have two options here. You can either get the 18 units in order for you to take the LET, but the school will give you only the Certificate in Professional Education (CPE) or you can get the (DPE Diploma in Professional Education if you will pursue the remaining units for the field study and practicum).

We were encouraged to take the practicum and the field study for the second semester. But again it depends on your choice. (Existentialism - freedom/choices). We just finished achieving our 18 units enough to qualify to take the Licensure Examination for Teachers (LET). If you are a second courser, most likely you will be teaching in the secondary level or tertiary level but I guess you can also teach elementary level.
You might wonder how much is the tuition fee. For the 18 units we paid PHP 8,410 and PHP 100 for the school ID. Don't worry you can pay 50% upon enrolling and the rest before finals.
To give you a background about the subjects we have taken, I will present to you our beloved instructors and their respective expertise;

ReplyDeleteHi. On going pa ba ang enrollment sa DPE?
ReplyDeleteHi, How about the requirements upon enrolling?
ReplyDeleteWhat are those requirements needed?? To enroll for the DPE
ReplyDeleteI am interestd to enroll ... your blog is helpful to me.
ReplyDeleteHello Everyone,
ReplyDeleteI apologize for not getting back to you as soon as possible. It has been a long time. I lost track and I don't remember all the requirements you need to enroll for DPE. I would highly recommend to visit the office of the EDUCATION DEPARTMENT CTU Main Campus. DPE is I am not mistaken is under the College of Education. The office as far as I can remember is located one floor above the school's library. It is directly across the GRADUATE SCHOOL OFFICE. (When we were studying there were a lot of construction and renovation going on, so I have no idea if the office is there the same.)
These are the things I remembered:
1. TOR from your previous school. (This type of TOR is the one you get after your graduation, ordinary one - the all purpose one)
2. https://www.ctu.edu.ph/college-of-education/ (this is the link for the college of education)
3. ID pictures ( I don't remember the size actually)
4. Presence of mind, patience, pen, water, food, money, a lot of patience actually(hehe)
5. Yourself
Enrollment Stages:
a. If ever you are go through all the the steps already, filling out out forms-assuming you are in the enrollment process, (I would suggest you wrote down your educational background. Where did you study in your elem, secondary, tertiary level and the dates of graduation. It will make your filling so easy.)
b. The school registrar (from CTU) will also give you a letter to ask your school (where you graduated your 4 year course) the following:
a. a type of TOR that will allow you to enroll at CTU. In this stage all your information/records will be transmitted to CTU). They will tell you to mail the letter or personally give it to your previous school registrar office. Suggestion: If you are free personally giving the letter is the best option since it will only take maybe less than a week while sending it trough mail might take time.
b. Good moral character.
I hope this will help. Thank you and have fun! Smile
Naa kuy Question unta naay makatubag. Kanang Graduate sa ETEEAP BA Qualified na sa DPE?
