Bohol to Cebu via Meme-Hilton Route

When life seems tough, take it easy.
Onboard in the metro ferry from Mactan  to Pier 3, Cebu City. I usually take the Clemer Lines pumpboat to travel from Cebu to Jetafe, Bohol. Clemer Lines office is located near the police station in Plaza Indepencia or Port Santiago. It was after New Year, Jan 4, 2018, that I decided to go back to Cebu from Bohol after the long holidays. You might  think the holiday was over but it wasn't. There were still many passengers who were stranded from the typhoon Agata and who decided to extend their vacation.

Let's take a look and be with me in my journey!

This is the ticketing booth from Jetafe, Bohol, Philippines. The name of the boat is MEME. They have routes from Jetafe to Cordova and vice versa, and Jetafe to Hilton  (now called as Mövenpick Hotel Mactan Island Cebu) back and forth. I don't think they have route to Pier 1 and Pier 3.

Fare Rates:
Adult = 150
Student =130
Senior citizen =120
Children 2 to 11 yrs old=75

It took about two hours travelling. From Jetafe to Hilton. If your destination is not for Lapu-Lapu or Mandaue, I will not recommend you take this route. It is way too far if you are living on the other side of Cebu Island, like Talisay, Guadalupe, Et al.

I arrived in Jetafe around 10 o'clock in the morning. I am from Trinidad. It is about an hour or 30 to 40 mins travel depending  on what kind of transportation you are using. Jeepneys will take longer that Public Vans and Motorcycles.

Fares:

From Trinidad to Jetafe/ Jetafe to Trinidad

From the port to the public vehicles = PHP10/person

Van = PHP 50/head, kids might me lesser ( fare from Talibon)

Jeepneys = PHP 25

Tricycle for hire =PHP 300-350 but more space for you and your luggages (You can see them near the port. They will asked if you wanna hire them. Always negotiate. If you have a foreigner with you they sometimes asked for more. I think that how it works everywhere. But it is not a good thing to take advantage of others.

Motorbike = about  PHP 200-250 (not sure about this, my siblings will  take me for free)

Talibon- Trinidad (php15)

If there are no more available jeepneys or passenger tricycles (who will have 4 - 6 passenger), you'll have to pay maybe around PHP80-100 from Talibon to Trinidad to the tricycle for hire.

We arrived safe and sound. The weather was not bad at all. The sea was calm. As I mentioned earlier, I prefer going directly to Pier 1 or Pier 3. I chose MEME-Hilton route because when I arrived in Jetafe, the available boat for pier uno is not until 3:00 o'clock in the afternoon. And take note that it was the CLEMER LINES last trip. So I took the MEME since I don't want to wait. I have not travel this way so I thought...hmmmm this sounds an adventure!

Before I forgot, CLEMER LINES, travels via Jetafe to Pier 1 sometimes in Pier 3, and I think they have a direct route to Pasil, Cebu.
The boat fare are as follows;

Adult =PHP 170
Kids 2yrs up = PHP 85
Senior Citizen = I forgot just bring your ID.

Both this pumpboats are considered as fast ferries. They travels everyday. They usually have an hour interval. But if there  are a lot of passengers, they will leave as soon as the number of passenger is meet.

 This is me. I like to explore. Try new things. Maybe I should call myself, " Dora the Explorer'', it's a kids kind of educational learning show. I am DORA the explorer from Philippines.
 Aside from sight viewing, I love taking photos. Words is not just enough, I need pictures to remind me of the places I've been to. And  as I  grow older I might not remember any of it. So this blog is for myself, for my loves, and for all the people I haven't met yet. This is for you and for me.

 These are some photos when you are arriving in Hilton/Olangg Port. This is the port to Olanggo Island. It is a very nice island. I've been there once with my fiance, my son, and my fiance's mom. We stayed at Talima Beach Resort. It felt like you are in some other places. A good place to wind. They have white beaches, and  friendly people.They have lots of things to do. Some activities are the bird watching, snorkeling, diving and just relaxing.

We are not yet done! Grab your things and hop on!

There are two ways to go to Cebu City from Mactan Cebu, either by land or water. If you are wise, I am sure you spare some money enough for a Taxi but if you overspent it then you have to take more rides. By jeepneys, you have to have more than two or three rides just to go to the Cebu City. As for myself, I am not yet familiar on what jeepneys to ride and so on. Those two choices were already eliminated.(TAxi and More Jeepney Rides). My best option was to take the metro ferry. From Hilton  I rode a jeepney that has A Mercado Route on it. I paid only PHP7.

It was my first time traveling alone in that area. So I was lost. HAhaha not totally lost but I did a lot of walking. Some of the Jeepney that has Mercado signage will stop in the old Church but I have no idea where it was.
With courage and perseverance and with the help of  the locals , I was able to find METRO-FERRY . It was behind the NUESTRA SENORA DE REGLA NATIONAL SHRINE. Just go inside, go straight,  follow the leaders, I mean the other people. You will see right at the very end of the Shrine the Ferry boats..
